Submission Policies

*All submissions must follow the guidelines in order to be screened at the festival*

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY

These regulations apply to all submission categories:

1. All entries must declare an intended category and an application fee applies for each entry.  A particular title may be submitted for consideration in multiple categories, therefore, each submission by category is considered a new entry, and an additional fee will be charged.

2. The application fees are non-refundable.

3. Content must be submitted via FilmFreeway and include a working screener accessible via FilmFreeway in order to be considered.

4.  Only complete submissions (screener & application fee) will be considered.

5.  All entries must be final cuts. If selected, all entries will be shown in the state they were submitted. Final Cut is a finished product that is no longer subject to change.

6. Submitted content need not be a premier nor exclusive to this festival. It may have been released theatrically or shown on television in the U.S. prior to the festival.  Likewise, it may have been submitted for consideration at other film and TV festivals.

7. All submissions must be free from any legal disputes and the filmmaker/content creator must have cleared all rights for music and exhibition.

8. MIH presents all content in its original language. Non-English language submissions must be accompanied by English subtitles.

9. Rough cuts and works-in-progress are eligible for entry, but the link must be clearly marked as such. The festival will only be able to consider one version of each project submitted and does not accept replacement cuts for consideration. Please take this into account when deciding when to submit the content.

10. MIH is not responsible for the return of any physical submission materials: DVDs, decks, posters, etc.

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY

Along with the above regulations, the following rules apply for submissions to be eligible to play in competition:

1. Preference is given to productions that can reliably demonstrate they were made in some part (filmed on location or in a studio, edited, written, etc.) within the borders of the Town of Huntington, Long Island, NY.

2. Preference is given to productions that reference or feature a person(s), location(s) or culture(s) that are in the Town of Huntington, Long Island, NY

3.    Eligible projects may include feature length films (runtime ≥ 40 minutes), or short films (runtime < 40 minutes). See Categories for more information on which categories allow Feature length submissions.

4. The content selected to be screened at the Made In Huntington Film & TV Festival will be shown within the daypart and genre grouping determined most appropriate by Festival programmers, in their sole discretion.

5. All awards will be granted at the sole discretion of the Festival Programmers, and the appointed Jurors.
